Text on a white background about agriculture and mission statement. More than a third of the world's land is used for agriculture, and less than 1% is managed regeneratively. Agriculture is huge.

Here's the thing about our food system...
Modern agriculture has gotten really good at producing an unnatural amount of food. While we're feeding more people than ever before, all of that production comes at a cost; a cost to the environment, to the cleanliness of our water and air, to the wildlife that used to thrive on that land, to the safety of farm workers, and to our own health. The nutrient density of our food is declining.
Luckily, there's an answer. It's called regenerative agriculture.

What the h*ck is regenerative agriculture?

A good question. For many, it may be a new term, but it's not a new concept. At its heart, regenerative agriculture is all about fostering life and abundance by prioritizing soil health and working with mother nature instead of taking from her.

It focuses on building the health of the soil by mimicking the wild grazing and migration patterns of bison, allowing the land to recover and grow back stronger. Healthier soil means cleaner water, more wildlife, and food that’s actually better for us. It’s farming that takes care of our planet while taking care of us and our furry friends.

Picture this...

A few hundred years ago, 30 to 60 million bison roamed across North America. They’d graze, stomp, fertilize the land, and then move on, giving the grass time to rest and grow back. That’s how nature kept the land healthy.

Today, our ranchers follow that same playbook with regenerative agriculture. They carefully move their animals from pasture to pasture, just like the bison once did. This keeps the soil alive, helps plants grow strong, and even pulls carbon out of the air. It’s farming that restores the land and makes it better for the future.

We're pretty picky about our partners

The ingredients we source play a role in actively regenerating the land. That means that every farm and ranch we source from is actually getting healthier over time: more carbon captured from the air and sequestered in the soil, more diversity of plants, insects, and critters that call the land home, healthier soils, cleaner water, and more nutritious foods.
And this isn't fluff. Every single rancher in our network conducts extensive testing of ecological outcomes. They have the data to prove that their land is regenerating, and that their livestock is the key to making it happen.

We don't just say it, we prove it.

100% of our ingredients come from 3rd party verified ranches. Today, all of our bison comes from Land to Market verified land. When we say we're picky about our partners, we mean it.

The Bottom Line

You have to feed and reward your pet, but the planet shouldn't suffer for it. Animals should not be raised inhumanely for it. Farmers should not be undercut for it. With Once Wild you can have your cake (treats) and eat it too (have a positive impact).
Happy soil, happy plants, happy animals, happy pets, happy communities, happy planet. It's a win-win-win-win-win (did we count that right?)
